Career
Engaged in the construction industry since 1971 working generally
in civil and structural design but including permanent appointments on site.
Civil Engineering design has embraced roads, bridges and drainage while structural
has included a variety of buildings. Extensive experience of investigative
reporting including expert witness.

Joined Hale & Associates Consulting Engineers which merged with Eagling & Allen
to form Hale Allen later becoming Hale Allen Jones. Became a Partner in May
1989. Responsible for design of all types of buildings and structures including
civil engineering projects.

Career
Engaged in the construction industry since 1972, working within the field
of civil and structural engineering in association with the design and detailing
of bridges and building structures since 1975.
1980-Date
Assistant Engineer Hale Allen Jones later becoming an Associate and
then a Partner of the Practice.
Principal Engineer on a wide range of projects which have included; the design
of leisure facilities such as swimming pool structures and pool hall super-structures,
large commercial office refurbishments as well as new build contracts and multi-storey
office and housing including sheltered accommodation. Industrial designs have
included a large aircraft hanger for a commercial airline and a call centre
for airline bookings.
The above range of work has included conventional appointments as well as acting
as a design and build consultant on contracts both in a novated capacity and
when appointed directly by the Main Contractor.

Engaged in the construction industry since 1997, working
on the structural and civil design, specification and construction of various
types of buildings and structures ranging from heavy and light industrial,
office developments, large retail and commercial, through to houses and other
buildings of traditional construction.
2002-Date
Hale Allen Jones Consulting Engineers.
Structural Engineer responsible for running projects varying from small domestic
repair works to multi million pound developments as well as performing the
necessary structural design work. As well as many new works, I also have experience
in remedial and refurbishment works. I work closely with the other Structural,
Civil Engineers and Technicians within the Practice as well as design Consultants.
I am also responsible for introducing Finite Element Design Software into the
Practice. In 2009 I was offered a partnership at the firm, which I duly accepted.
1999-2001
Chaplin Farrant Limited, Architects, Engineers & Quantity Surveyors.
Structural Engineer from March 2001, I was the sole Engineer at the Practice
responsible for all the engineering works from the initial concept through
to the full design. Working on a variety of projects incorporating steel, concrete,
masonry and timber designs.
1997–1999
P Lowery & Sons Limited, Civil Engineering Contractors.
Site Engineer responsible for the Civils section on the BT contract working
with a small team of engineers supervising sub contracted site operatives,
ensuring safe working practices were adhered to. Inspection and measurement
of works in compliance with the BT specification (LN550). Implementing alternative
engineering solutions on sites where original plans were not feasible and agreeing
variation orders.
Other Activities
Graduate member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and currently working
towards chartered status.
Past Vice Chairman of the Structural Institution's Young Members Panel and a member
of the East Anglian branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers Committee.
