At Hale Allen Jones we have over 35 years of in depth experience in structural
design. Our projects range from multi-million pound developments, to domestic
extensions or loft conversions, down to single lintel or beam installations.
DESIGN PROCESS ON A VARIED SCALE
A
complete design service is a common request, and after assessing the size and
complexity of a project we can easily ascertain the type of information package
required. For smaller scale domestic jobs we usually produce a formal set of
calculation sheets often including hand drawn sketches, clearly specifying
exactly what is required with regard to that individual project. These documents
serve as a record for the client, as well as a submission for building regulations
approval. Also they are useful for builders or contractors as a general guide
to what they need to put together on site. Where more detail is required, fully
scaled technical drawings outlining every aspect of the job can also be produced
using our AutoCAD technical detailing software.
For
larger scale projects we also work in partnership with major building contractors,
key departments of neighbouring councils, distinguished local architects and
national commercial corporations, as part of a fully functional design team.
Our wide range of the latest computer software enables us to develop extensive
models of any structural form, which can then be analysed under several diverse
conditions.
DIFFERENT PROJECT - DIFFERENT APPROACH
Whatever
the scale of the project, the structural design service we provide is specifically
suited to each individual project and client. We adopt a pragmatic approach
when advising clients and other members of a design team to help find the most
practical solutions for the development of any particular structure, from an
engineering standpoint. This may occasionally alter the basic design of the
building slightly, but often leads to noticeable financial savings during the
latter stages of construction.
Our in house design teams can supervise a project from inception through design
development and on to completion. Being available through every stage of a
build enables other external parties, such as architects or contractors, to
get answers more efficiently, and gives the client a constant source of sound
engineering advice.
