Small Scale Designs -
Lintels to Loft Conversions
At Hale Allen Jones we pride ourselves in the involvement we have in large complex projects. But we also know that smaller scale jobs can be just as significant to you, the client. We believe that no job is too small and it is common for our office to be processing an array of jobs like these at any one time.
To us, the efficient design of these elements is just as important as any other project. Each job is treated individually and is assessed as carefully and methodically as the next. Examples of such projects include;
• Residential extensions__________• Scaffolding / Shoring designs
• Conservatories________________ • Barn conversions
• Loft conversions_______________ • Lintel designs for new windows / doors
• Internal layout alterations________• Garden / Boundary retaining wall designs
We have a good understanding of local attitudes and a healthy working relationship with local businesses and the Local Authority. This, coupled with our familiarity of local ground conditions, geography and acute consideration for the cause and effect of a variety of common structural defects gives us an advantage over larger national
consultancies
when it comes to advising on projects taking place within our region.

After gaining popularity for its beneficial properties as a roof covering, Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) has featured in some prestigious projects including The_Eden_Project and the National_Aquatics_Centre in Beijing. HAJ are currently involved in the design of several schemes incorporating this product with hospitals, schools and other developments.

Funded by donations from five local rowing clubs, the project includes boat storage at ground floor with changing rooms and leisure facilities at first floor. The steel framed structure was designed by HAJ and the substructure was developed by a specialist sub-contractor in conjunction with HAJ. The EA were also closely involved to ensure the finished floor level was set above the flood plain level.
