The practice originally dates back to 1968 with its current incarnation as a partnership, being formed in 1986 by the merger of two already established firms; Eagling & Allen and Hale & Associates. HAJ have therefore been continuously involved in Consulting Engineering for over 40years. Our experience and knowledge
of Structural, Civil and Highway Engineering enables us to offer an excellent
service to Developers, Contractors, Individual Clients, Architects and Surveyors.

SERVICES
- Before sites are purchased, Hale Allen Jones can undertake site
visits, coordinate specialist geotechnical and contamination investigations
and carry out feasibility studies or project appraisals. This provides a
range of viable foundation options to help with an informed assessment of
the substructure and infrastructure prior to exchange.
- Subsequent to this we can provide project management for any scheme,
from inception right through to site completion.
- By assessing the primary engineering features of a design concept
we can advise on the implementation of a cost effective structure at an early
stage of development.
 We
have experience in designing steel, concrete, masonry, timber and other forms of construction, that
we develop in house and from which we have acquired several satisfied repeat clients.- We have, at the request of Architects or private individuals, designed
and detailed numerous visually distinctive feature structures for several
projects and as a result developers have found that they have been able to
sell their properties many times over, due to the aesthetic impact these
much desired feature structures can have with purchasers.
- We are also able to assist Clients with Project Management of contracts
to keep the project progressing as intended, our in depth knowledge of detailed
design and critical path management is invaluable in pinpointing otherwise
obscure solutions to common difficulties of the construction process.
- We have considerable expertise in appraisals of existing structures
and can prepare reports on commercial and
domestic buildings
to guide prospective purchasers on the long and short term implications of
the property.
- We can prepare and monitor remedial works schemes on behalf of lenders,
to ensure all parties are satisfied on completion of the project.
- We are qualified to act as an Expert Witnesses in a court of law,
providing an impartial view on any ongoing legal discussions.
- We can act as Planning Supervisors for Health & Safety CDM Regulations.
- We can provide advice on any issues regarding neighbouring properties
and Party Wall problems as we are experienced surveyors under the Party Wall
Act 1996.

We can often minimise expenditure if we are provided with details of building
layouts or conceptual schemes at an early stage in development. The most common
waste of money is pursuing an uneconomic or ill suited structural arrangement.
Our offices are networked with a suite of the latest computer analysis, design
and drafting programs enabling complex structures and engineering problems
to be assessed and drawn with speed. This includes all aspects of structural,
civil, highway and drainage design.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & MANAGEMENT
At Hale Allen Jones all projects are regularly reviewed by both management
and staff in order to ensure every project is correctly and adequately resourced.
In addition, we are certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance and
externally audited to maintain registration. In order to comply with CDM Regulations
full designer risk assessments are carried out on every project with a system
for carrying out the necessary checks.
